Mr. Mandell began his practice in Real Estate transactional law in 1977, focusing on acquisition, development, finance and entitlements. In 1980, he formed the first of many partnerships to which he provided management expertise as a General Partner. Mr. Mandell served on the Board of Directors at San Diego National Bank from 1992 to 2009. He has founded and managed a number of other businesses (not related to Real Estate) over the years. The unique mix of his considerable experience as an entrepreneur, attorney and in banking, provides Square One with an invaluable resource.

Mickey Cafagna passed away on April 11, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. A dedicated family man and a successful entrepreneur, Mickey approached life with incredible passion, integrity, and perseverance. He valued and enjoyed his relationships with people most of all � whether family, friends, co-workers or fellow citizens. Throughout his career, he directed the acquisition, development, financing and management of various residential and commercial projects as President of Square One Development Corporation. Deeply involved in local politics he also served as the Mayor of Poway since 1998 and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) after serving as its Chair from 2004 through 2006.

Mickey is survived by his wife, two children and five grandchildren.
