Under Eden’s legal guidance, Square One Development Corporation has navigated through the complexities of real estate management and development, ensuring compliance and facilitating significant transactions that have contributed to the company’s growth and stability, including through the 2008-2009 crisis and COVID-19. Her role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from overseeing legal operations and organizational development to financial analysis, ensuring the smooth execution of leases, sales, and refinances, highlighting her critical role in the company’s success.
Before her tenure as General Counsel, Eden’s career at Square One evolved through roles that increasingly leveraged her background in real estate law and business, skills strengthened by her MBA. Starting as a legal intern, she quickly transitioned to a transaction manager and, upon acquiring her law degree, assumed the position of General Counsel. Each role served as a stepping stone, preparing her for the complexities and challenges of leading the company’s legal department.
Prior to Square One, Eden cultivated a rich background in business, owning and managing ventures in the restaurant and telecom industries. These experiences provided her with a robust foundation in business operations and management, enriching her perspective and approach to her current role. Her academic path, which includes a Masters and deep dive into psychological research through her work as a Ph.D. researcher before pivoting to law, underscores her diverse skill set and adaptive approach to problem-solving.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Eden’s active involvement in community initiatives highlights her expansive leadership vision. She has held positions on various boards and councils including serving as President of the California Western School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, President of the Clairemont Town Council as President, and Co-Chair Leadership Development Committee for the Lawyers Club. Additionally, she gained bar admission to the United States Supreme Court and currently serves as the Director of Cans for Books, as well as being a member of San Diego CREW. Her involvement demonstrates her commitment to leveraging her professional expertise for broader societal benefits.
