Portfolio ManagerSince 2013, Will has consistently delivered above market returns with very low vacancy rates. With broad experience across product types, Will is responsible for commercial leasing transactions for industrial, office and retail holdings. With a deep knowledge of space planning, layout design, tenant improvement scope, finish specifications, bidding, construction, entitlements and permitting processes, Will goes the extra mile for tenants. He also works closely with lenders and underwriters to ensure all properties are properly positioned for favorable financing. Will’s ongoing success is based upon taking the time to understand prospective tenant’s needs a strong commitment to the lost art of customer service.
Prior to Square One Development, Will founded and operated a “clean-tech” incubator and was involved in the development of cutting-edge recreational and entertainment concepts including WaveHouse. In the early 2000’s, he served as a public official as the City of San Diego’s Real Estate Assets Director. In addition to managing a multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio and a department of 250 employees, he was instrumental the redevelopment of Sea World, many of the Mission Bay hotels and expanding the City’s open space holdings by thousands of acres, as well as acquiring the right of way on behalf of CalTrans for City’s last freeway: State Route 56.
Will has been active in the local community serving as a Trustee of the San Diego Episcopal Diocese Foundation, Chairman of the St. James by-the-Sea Investment Committee, and a Friend of the UCSD Stewart Collection and the Walter Munk Foundation for the Oceans. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law and is a licensed real estate broker and attorney.
